Esker Entertains December 20th and 21st

What a wonderful concert we had here in the school just before the holidays. Every class worked really hard to produce songs from the Musicals for the enjoyment and entertainment of parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts  and of course for the children themselves. We had two Esker Entertain concerts,, one for the parents and invited guests on Tuesday and  we did it all again for the children in the school on Wednesday.  There was  a mixture of old and new, much loved, tunes from the Musicals.  Songs from The Sound of Music, Beauty and the Beast, Frozen, The Jungle Book, Les Miserables, High School Musical. Our Junior Infants even managed Hakuna Matata from the Lion King, no mean feat I can tell you. We had Zippidity Do Dah from the 1946 Musical Song of the South.  We had bell ringers from 6th and our new tin whistle group impressed us all with four tunes. Then there were our brave and talented soloists.  There were dancers accompanying our soloist Claudia in a rousing version of Santa Claus is Coming to Town. We had actors and singers accompany Natalie  in Frosty the Snowman. We had a  beautiful  version of   Castle in the Cloud from Les Mis. from Fabiana in 2nd Class. Lauretta gave her unique and powerful rendition of 'Do you want to Build a Snowman' from Frozen.  Ainhoa sang two beautiful songs including  Once Upon a Winter Time  and Tade  brought the house down with his own blues composition Fruit Salad Blues accompanied by his band KingTade and the Rich Dab Blues Kingdom.

Thank you to all of you parents who turned up to cheer on your children. You were a magnificent audience. Thanks also once again to our wonderful PTA who  hosted the parents with tea /coffee and mince pies. A great days work for us all  and a great way to send us all off in to the holidays with music in our hearts
