It is time to say goodbye to the butterflies. I will be sad to see them go but know they will have lots of fun exploring the world and feeding on lovely plants! The red colour on the tissue you see is actually meconium which the liquid the butterflies released when they stretched their wings then they came out of their chrysalides. Slán butterflies!! You never know you might see one of them flying if you go for your walk in Lucan!

It is almost time to let the butterflies explore the world! They have been snacking on flowers, nectar and cut up apples!
I got some great name suggestions: Peter, Zizi, Mimi, Fify, Lizy, Dora, Sugar, Esker, Flyer, Flutter, Dave and Aoife!! Which is your favourite? In February, we had lots of fun working in our post office in Aistear. We wrote letters and postcards to each other and we worked hard as postal workers selling stamps, TV licences, along with sorting letters and parcels and delivering them to all parts of our classroom! We even used our Bee Bot to deliver mail to the shops and houses. We worked together to pick a house or shop, designed an algorithm to give the Bee Bot the instructions on how to get there. We then programmed the Bee Bot with our algorithms. We used our problem-solving skills if he didn't reach his destination!!
