Today's Activities

​Dear Parents/ Guardians,

I hope you and your family had a well deserved and safe break over St. Patrick's weekend. 
Here is the work for today as posted on Aladdin:

Mental Maths 
English sheet day 68
Maths Discovery book p. 68
Word wizard p. 85 + 86
Division tables (handout).
Read for 20 minutes +
Exercise for 20 minutes +
Design and make your own kite.
Handwriting book 1 page.
Choose an activity from the grid.

Here are some further optional activities for your child:

Test your tables on Daily 10 https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/daily10.
Go on a 3D shape hunt in your house and record the shapes you find.
Do something kind for someone: can you pay someone a compliment, make something for them or help them with a task?
Read aloud to someone with expression.
Keep a diary - write about what you are seeing in the news, how you feel and how you and your family have been passing the time. What is closed in our country? Keep your diary safe.  These are historic times and your diary is written evidence. It is an opportunity to record our experiences and save them for the future.

Your child may write the answers in their copy if they choose to do some of the tasks over the following days and do not have access to a printer.

Libraries are closed but it is possible to download audio books and ebooks for free on librariesireland.ie/join. 
You can also join www.vooks.com for one month for free and access children's story books with animated illustrations and narrated stories.
https://www.storylineonline.net/ also has a wide selection of books that your child can listen to.
