Hello and welcome to the Eco Committee blog!
Here are the members of the Eco Committee for 2019/2020 and what a fantastic team they are!
Twice a month, the committee will be doing classroom spot checks and awarding points to classes who are making an effort to be more sustainable. The senior and junior class with the highest points will be awarded the title of 'Eco Class of the month' and will be presented with a fabulous golden globe trophy! We will be awarding 1st, 2nd and 3rd place for Junior and Senior classes. Each winning class will receive a certificate to display on their classroom door.

Read on to learn more about how to win points for your class:

Litter and Waste

• Clean paper and plastic in the recycling bin = 1 point
• Non-recyclable waste in the general waste bin = 1 point
• Making an ecobrick = 3 points

Water

• Taps off = 1 point
• No leaks = 1 point
• Flushing toilet properly = 1 point
• Basin in sink = 2 points

Remember – When you go to the toilet, you know what to do. Small flush for one, big flush for two!

Energy

• Classroom Lights off = 1 point
• Whiteboard off = 2 points
