It's been a busy month in Senior Infants Green. We met out new teacher, Emma and we are back with all of our friends from Junior Infants! Take a look at some of our activities over the last few weeks. We start every day with Maths centres. Then get stuck into playtime! This month we have been learning all about the farm. We have been writing about what we plan to do every day and use lots of farm words. We visit the farm shop & cafe, dig for animals in the sandpit, create our own farm in small world and build impressive machines and houses for the farm in the lego area. We have even learnt how the farmer harvests his crops - and have gotten to see wheat and barley up close! We have even squeezed in a little time for some Art! Look at how creative we are! We have been lucky to spend lots of time outdoors in the sunshine, long may it last! We stay active even when the sun won't shine - and we multitask doing an RTE 10@10 as Gaeilge! To stay up to date on all that we do in school follow us on Twitter @EmmaDEsker Senior Infants Green.
We were the star performers at our Learn Together Assembly on Friday! We have been learning all about Minibeasts for the last six weeks, from Frogs to Butterflies and everything in between! Did you know that Caterpillars only have 6 legs? Bees communicate by dancing with each other and a Queen Bee can live for nearly 5 years! We have planted sunflowers to help save the Bees too! Take a look at our performance!
We are at the end of another month of Remote Learning in Senior Infants Green. The children have been busy doing lots of seesaw activities and working away on activities in their schoolbooks but they have also made time for some fun! Take a look at what they have been getting up to: This month we have been learning about the Fire Station. Some of the children have been trying the 2 minute challenge to see how many clothes they can put on in 2 minutes, just like a fire fighter! February marks the beginning of Spring in Ireland, usually that means brighter days and warmer temperatures! This year it has been very wet and windy out, but that hasn't stopped the children from getting out and about to look for signs of spring! Lots of the children are helping out in the kitchen and masking some tasty treats! There was some lovely news from one of the families in our class! Congratulations on the birth of your new baby girl! Senior Infants Green just love learning!
Take a peek at some of the EXCELLENT free writing being done by Senior Infants Green during remote learning!
Senior Infants Green have not wasted any time getting to grips with seesaw once more! Take a look at some of the amazing creativity and fun we are still having while we are apart.
Our theme for this month is The Restaurant. We have been busy writing menus, doing role plays and using the food to make art! We have even been helping our parents to cook in the kitchen!
Maths is also a bi part of our days. We are revising the story of 8 and using our cutting skills to make patterns!
We are having so much fun with playdough - we are even using it to learn our tricky words!
Our teacher is so proud of us, We can read stories to her now!
Speaking of becoming authors and illustrators, we also have a paleontologist! He knows all about dinosaurs and their different habitats.
Stay at home. Stay safe. Wash your hands! It was wonderful to see so many parents and family members at our Zoom Winter Showcase! Thank you for joining us, it was great to celebrate all of the work we have done this year. Here is our video, share with friends and family - enjoy! Last week we enjoyed an autumn walk with Ellen for one of our literacy centres! We spotted lots of autumn nature, conkers, acorns, fallen leaves and even some yummy looking strawberries! Hello everyone! It's been a very busy few weeks here in Senior Infants Green. We've been learning, playing and, most importantly, catching up with one another! Take a look at some of the fun things we have been doing in school!
