We had a lovely sunny day for a very successful Senior Sports Day. Events for children, parents and teachers included sprints, long distance, relays, potato and spoon races, three-legged races, sack races and the annual Parents Vs. Teachers Tug-of-War Showdown (to give it its full title). The events were chosen to be a mixture of competitiveness and fun, giving us not only an opportunity to watch our finest athletes in action but also the chance to experience the participation, respect and fairness that should be part of any sports meeting. With the exception of one very close finish and a heated debate that resulted in a big sulk by someone who should know better, the events took place in a great atmosphere. Congratulations to all of our medal winners and congratulations to all who took part. Remember, athletics is about testing yourself and meeting your own targets, you don't have to be a world champion for the simple joy of running and jumping to make you smile. Well done to all who took part and a special congratulations to the parents who came along to enjoy the day and who, yet again, managed to defeat the teachers in the tug-of-war.
Senior Infants Red - Noeline
Some photos from the year and World Book Day. As part of World Book Day, Paul's brilliant Third Class Red, very kindly visited Senior Infants Red. They read lovely stories with them and they were super at helping the Senior Infants to complete their Rainbow Art Project in time for 'The Wizard of Oz' celebrations.

Science Show
Declan from Science Ireland came to visit our school for two days. Every class watched and participated in experiments involving heat, air pressure, rockets, and pitch to name but a few. It was an exciting and educational experience!

PTA Sale
This event was held by the PTA in January. It was a huge success with nearly €600 raised! A huge thank you to our PTA members who set up the sale for the day, and also a big thank you to all those who donated toys and food, baked cakes and bought from the sale.
Junior Green Schools Committee
The Junior Green School Committee have been very busy checking that every classroom is playing their part in keeping our school 'Green'. Congratulations to Junior Infants, the proud winners of the last two inspections!
