South Dublin Libraries are delighted to announce that all branches will begin a Quick Browse Service from 09:45am on Monday 10th May.
Patrons can enter the library to browse, return, and self-issue books and other library materials.
Library users may also choose to drop off library items in a returns bin if they do not wish to enter the library.
For the wellbeing of all patrons and staff, please note the following: • Visitor numbers will be limited. A safe queuing system will operate outside the library. • Face coverings must be worn. • Browsing time will be limited to 15 minutes. • Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. • Study spaces remain closed. • Printing services will be available and patrons can send their printing via the Print, Copy & Go App. • Computers will not be available at this time. • Sanitisation stations must be used and will be available at the entrances to our libraries, at self-service kiosks and printing stations. • Social distancing and respiratory etiquette must be observed at all times. • Newspapers and magazines are not available in library branches, but online services can be accessed on our website via https://www.sdcc.ie/en/services/sport-and-recreation/libraries/explore-collections/ • If you or anyone at home has symptoms of Covid-19, please do not visit the library or return books at this time. • If you are cocooning and do not wish to visit the library, the Mobile Library Service is offering a home delivery service. Early Starters Music Classes with Music Generation South Dublin
Early Starters Music for Babies and Toddlers: 0-18 Months 4 week course beginning Saturday 22nd May, 10:45am - 11:15am Continues Saturday 29th May, 5th and 12th June In the three weeks leading up to Cruinniú na nÓg, you and your baby will learn some new songs and musical activities along with revisiting some old ones. These music sessions, led by MGSD music educator, Grace Corrigan, will culminate in one final music session on Cruinniú na nÓg, 12th June, where we will revisit your baby's favourite activities. Each child will need a parent to join in with them at the session. These classes will be delivered online via Zoom. These classes form part of South Dublin Libraries Cruinniú na nÓg programme. Introduction to Classical Music: Handel's Visit to Dublin, 1741-42 Thursday 27th May, 7:00pm - 8:00pm Sit back and enjoy this talk on Handel’s music and his visit to Dublin in 1741-42, by Peter Whelan. Peter has had a remarkable career as a conductor, keyboardist and solo bassoonist. He is Artistic Director of the Irish Baroque Orchestra.
