​Science Foundation Ireland Discover Science & Maths Awards

We love all things Maths & STEM in Esker and as a result we love taking part in these awards. We have been awarded a plaque for each year we have taken part, getting the plaque requires lots of hard work from our pupils and teachers, take a look at the criteria. 

How to earn a Plaque of STEM
Involve most classes i.e. more than half the number of classes in the school in some aspect of the steps outlined below e.g. investigations, using ICT and maths, trips, speaker visits, presenting at or attending the science open day in the school or other events.

The work you will see here is just the tip of the iceberg for STEM work in Esker. Every single one of our classes take part in the award. We have were awarded a plaque in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 you can take a look at our old STEM websites for 2017/2018/2019 in the tabs above. This year we have incorporated our log of evidence into our school website to make sure everyone gets to see what we get up to all year long!
