Dear Parents, Please see suggested activities for 01.04.20. Thank you so much to all of the parents who have sent me updates on how you're all getting on at home. It's great to see the children hard at work and play! Regards, Emma

This week our butterflies emerged from their chrysalis! They have spent a few days getting used to their wings and building up their strength. I gave them some juicy oranges and flowers for food, butterflies love nectar, or sugary water (I hope they brush their teeth!!). I had to sprinkle some sugar water onto the flowers for them every couple days but they loved it! When butterflies stretch out their wings a red liquid called meconium can sometimes drip off their wings. So far I’ve gotten the names Pixel, Corona and Twinkle sent into me. That’s 3 names altogether, but there are five butterflies! I would love if you wanted to draw a picture of the butterflies and send it to me too! These butterflies are called painted ladies. How beautiful! Oreo and Wispa were just as excited as we were to see the butterflies arrive! 😍 The chrysalis will shake if it is scared, Wispa must have been making lots of noise! So that’s that! Our butterflies were ready to fly this morning. It was a glorious sunny day here so hopefully they found some of the flowers in my garden to hang out on for a little while! Keep an eye out for them when you’re outside you might be able to say hi! They’re very friendly - here’s a short video I took when we said goodbye! Dear Parents, Please see attached suggested activities for 31.03.20. We have one name suggestion for the butterfly so far - Pixel! I think it's a lovely name for him as the patterns on his wings look a little like pixels. Regards, Emma
Dear parents, I have attached some ideas and activities for you to do tomorrow. These will now be sent to you daily, by 8pm the evening beforehand. We were due to begin a new topic next week of Fairytales so where possible we have based some of the activities around this. Aoife and I have worked together to make up these documents and we welcome any feedback you may have such as what worked well for you and what did not work well? Also, if you have access to a home printer and would be able to print out the odd worksheet please let us know! We want to help make this time as manageable for you all as possible. Once again, please do get in touch if you have any questions (or ideas!). I hope you're all keeping safe and well! Emma.
One of the Butterflies has emerged from their chrysalis! 😍 If you have any ideas for what we could name it (I think it’s a boy) ask mum or dad to send me an email or tweet! I’ll post the ideas up here for you all to decide 🐛🦋 The caterpillars have been super busy forming their chrysalis! Some of them were able to hold onto the lid of the tub but I guess some of them must have gotten tired so they’re chilling out on a little piece of kitchen paper. I wonder what will happen next? 👀🦋
Dear Parents, I hope you all had a lovely St. Patrick's Day! Aoife and I have put together a sample timetable of activities for next week to help in structuring the day for you and your children. Please use it as it suits you. A reminder email me if you have any questions - I am here to help! Regards, Emma
Happy St. Patrick's Day! Our Caterpillars are on the move.....I wonder where they're off to? Check out this video about the life cycle of a butterfly. Chat at home about it. What stage comes next?
The caterpillars are busy making lots of silk at the moment. Can you spot all 5 of them? Check out this little video of them walking you can see how they are such good climbers with all those legs! If you don’t like creepy crawlies this is a very close up video 🐛 🦋 feel free to skip it! During the week we were thrilled to have Rang a sé in for some buddy reading for Seachtain na Gaeilge! Bhí said ag léamh as Gaeilge linn! Go rain maith agaibh. 🍀 As well as that we have been working on our comhrá and our múinteoir is ar bís with all of our progress! Maith sibh do na beirt cailíní anseo ag caint faoin an zú! Cad atá sa phictúir? |
