We have had a very busy and enjoyable term in Blue, filled with many fun and meaningful learning experiences. The penguin sensory tray was a huge hit, alongside winter baking and a variety of creative art activities. The boys also took to the stage and experimented singing into the microphone and singing songs for their friends! As a special end-of-term treat, we went to the cinema in Liffey Valley to watch a Paw Patrol Christmas film. Afterwards, we enjoyed a trip to McDonald’s, followed by the bus journey home. The boys had a wonderful day and gained lots of valuable learning experiences along the way!

We recently visited our local café, where the boys had a great opportunity to practice important life skills — ordering their own food and paying for it. Everyone enjoyed some delicious pastries and juice! Halloween was another highlight, with lots of fun dressing up in fantastic costumes. The boys had a wonderful day and ended the celebrations with a cozy movie afternoon, watching some of their favourite Halloween-themed cartoons (and, of course, enjoying a few treats!). We’ve also been exploring new activities and games which have brought lots of smiles and teamwork to our days. In addition, the boys created some beautiful autumnal art, inspired by the changing colours of the season and the different colour leaves on the trees we see on our daily walks. Birthday season has also begun in Blue Class! We’ve already celebrated with birthday cake and some small, tasty treats — a perfect way to end a week full of fun and learning. We hope everyone had a wonderful summer break. The boys are delighted to be back at school, reconnecting with friends and teachers. September has been a busy and exciting month so far — settling back into routines, exploring new topics, and getting out into the Lucan community!
The boys have loved their daily walks around Lucan (when the weather allows!), and recently we’ve been exploring the theme of Autumn. We learned about the animals that hibernate during this season and collected colourful autumn leaves on our walks to use in our creative hedgehog art projects. School Tour 2025 – Explorium, Sandyford This year, our students had the incredible opportunity to visit Explorium – Ireland’s National Sport and Science Centre in Sandyford. It was a day filled with discovery, excitement, and hands-on learning that truly brought science to life! From the moment they arrived, the boys were immersed in a world of exploration and curiosity. Explorium offers a dynamic blend of interactive exhibits and engaging activities designed to spark the imagination. The boys were able to take part in a wide range of science-based stations and experiments that were both educational and incredibly fun. Some of the highlights of the day included:
The boys in Blue have been putting in tremendous effort this term! We have been working diligently while also enjoying creative activities such as art and baking. At the beginning of the month, we celebrated a birthday, making it a special occasion for everyone. On World Book Day we took a trip to the library! Additionally, the boys have begun GAA training with Shane, where they had a fantastic time. Over the next few weeks, they will continue to refine their ball skills under his guidance.
Here is our Winter performance. The boys worked really hard learning and singing Jingle Bells. We are very proud of the boys! Well done! :)
The Boys in Blue have been working really hard since September! We have had so much fun learning, baking, doing some science experiments, exploring the outdoors, celebrating birthdays and much more! Here are some pictures to show what we have been doing.
Happy Saint Patrick's Day from all of us in Blue! We had a great day, dressing up for Lá Glas, doing some shamrock art, attending the Ceolchoirm and dancing in a ciorcal mór. Wishing you all a lovely St. Patrick's weekend!
