The Student Council organised a fundraising day to raise money to buy a school mascot! Planning, funding and buying a mascot is one of our key projects this year after it was recommended at one of the student council meetings and voted on by council members. The whole school had great fun! First Student Council Zoom of 2020Our first Student Council Zoom of the year was a great success! Student voice is extremely important at Esker and we weren't going to let Covid-19 stop us from getting together and communicating our thoughts and ideas about how to make school a better place for everyone.
Congratulations to our new student council for 2020/2021: Hakan, Marwh, Killian and Fabiana! Our Student Council represent the student voice in our school. A boy and girl from each class group from 3rd - 6th make up the committee. These children are democratically elected by their classmates in September. Every child who nominates themselves for election delivers a manifesto to their classmates.
Meetings are held every fortnight during lunchtime. The students gather opinions and ideas from the children in the school in their "student voice notebooks". These important ideas are discussed at meetings, with actions planned. Looking forward to a busy year ahead! |
