It has been a very busy and enjoyable time in Fifth Class Red, with lots of learning, activity, and new experiences both inside and outside the classroom.
We have been continuing our work as part of the Dream Space Ambassador Programme, where the class has been developing their creativity, teamwork and problem-solving skills. The students have shown great enthusiasm while exploring different ideas and working together on exciting digital and STEM challenges. It has been wonderful to see their confidence grow as they take on new roles as ambassadors within the school. We also had great fun celebrating Seachtain na Gaeilge. The class made a fantastic effort to embrace Gaeilge throughout the week, using Irish in conversations, games and activities. Bhí an-spraoi againn! It was lovely to hear so much Irish being spoken around the classroom and to see the students encouraging each other to give it a go. Sport has also been a big highlight recently. The class has been enjoying athletics during PE, practising different running, jumping and throwing skills while building fitness and teamwork. Our swimming lessons have continued as well, with everyone making excellent progress in the water and showing great determination. A number of students also took part in the Santry athletics tryouts, representing the class with great effort and enthusiasm. We are very proud of the way they gave their best and supported each other. Overall, it has been a fantastic few weeks in Fifth Class Red. The students continue to work hard, support one another and make the most of every opportunity that comes their way. We are looking forward to many more exciting activities and learning experiences in the weeks ahead!

This year at the beginning of October the students in 3rd class took part in a construction project. Their challenge was to think of new facilities that they would like to see in Lucan and the surrounding areas. They then had to plan and construct a new building that they think children would enjoy.
During Maths Week, which took place in our school from the 17th-21st October, we were very lucky to receive our brand new maths packs! Linda organised this for us and we were delighted to have our parents come into school one morning to play some maths games with us. We had so much fun! There are lots of things included in our pack including a hundred square, snakes and ladders, counters, dice, a deck of cards and maths vocabulary! Every Thursday we have our maths pack for homework and we get to choose a game to play with a family member at home. Welcome to 2nd Class Red's class blog! We hope you enjoy having a look at what's happening in our busy classroom :)
Our Aistear theme in September was 'The Birthday Party'. We set up party food in our role play area. We played party games like pin the tail on the donkey, memory match and snap. We were learning the months of the year by singing a song. We wrote party invitations and borthday cards. We had so much fun!
