4th Class Green have had a fantastic final term at Esker ETNS. We have enjoyed many memorable experiences, including Active Week, Sports Day, and our school tour to Fort Lucan. Our boys proudly took part in their first Esker Inter-School Football match in Adamstown, while our choir members had a wonderful time performing at the Big Sing. It has been a busy and enjoyable term for everyone. 4th Class Green have had a very busy start to 2026.
We began January by working on projects about Italy, where the children explored different aspects of Italian culture, food, and geography. To celebrate the completion of their projects, the class enjoyed a pizza party and made their own delicious pizza wraps. We were also delighted to welcome storyteller Niall De Búrca, who visited the school and captivated the class with a range of imaginative stories inspired by Irish history. As part of our Learn Together programme, the class performed at the whole-school assembly based on the theme of the month, ‘Empathy.’ The children thoroughly enjoyed bringing their drama to life through a lively performance of Battle of the Bands. They also performed the song I’ll Walk With You, which beautifully reflected the theme of empathy and friendship. We were fortunate to have Pramod from Microsoft visit our classroom to deliver an engaging workshop on AI adventures and coding. The students greatly enjoyed learning about technology and exploring how coding can be used creatively. Finally, 4th Class have been enthusiastically practising their Irish dancing in preparation for their upcoming céilí as part of Seachtain na Gaeilge celebrations. We are all looking forward to the festivities! 4th Class Green have had a fantastic start to the first term! We’ve really enjoyed dressing up for Halloween and getting active with our rugby lessons. We’ve also been learning to play the ukulele and carrying out exciting science experiments in class. During Maths Week, we took part in lots of fun maths activities, including maths trails and games outside. It’s been a busy and brilliant few weeks, and we’re all really looking forward to celebrating Mother Tongue Week and performing in the Winter Showcase! In 2nd Class Green, we have been learning all about Space! We have also been exploring caring for our planet by planting seeds and recycling. We decided to combine these two topics to make some amazing space rockets, helmets and control stations using 'junk'. Check out our fabulous creations below - we had a 'blast'! |
