What a memorable year to graduate primary school. Graduations are always very special occasions but I think this one will live on in everyone's memories. Our staff put in so much hard work to make this a fantastic graduation for our pupils under difficult circumstances.
I think you will all agree it was a wonderful graduation! Class of 2020 this is not goodbye, just farewell for now, we will always be here for you in Esker!
It feels like on yesterday we had our last assembly! How time is flying and now we are into our last month of school before the holidays.
Well done to everyone for all your hard work.
If you couldn't join us live on Friday or need another look at our competitions now is your chance to look back on our assembly.
Take a look back at our 4th Virtual Assembly! I cannot believe we have already had four virtual assemblies!
We love keeping in touch every 2nd Friday with our whole school assemblies. It is so lovely to see the whole school in one place. On the weeks we don't have a whole school assembly we have a Class Zoom to chat with just our class. We also have get togethers for the cast and crew of our musical and Zoom calls with SET teachers and SNA's. Everyone is adapting to classwork on Seesaw and Edmodo. Keep up the amazing work everyone!
Take a look back at our most recent assembly on the theme of happiness and don't forget to enter the latest POW competition.
WOW!! That was another fantastic assembly.
It was so lovely to see so many of you online. I loved the story that Catherine read, the music that Etaoin and her husband played and the the beautiful slide show and all the lovely messages and birthday wishes and of course the wonderful video of our fish from Barry.
There was so much to be grateful for including our fantastic new GREEN SCHOOL FLAG!!! Well done to Gemma, Paula, the Green School Committee, The Eco Committee, all the teachers, SNA's, Barry, Suzanne and all the pupils and teachers who have worked so hard to make sure we achieved our Transport Flag. Take a look at all the hard work on their blog pages.
Check out the recording of our assembly for anyone who missed it and anyone who wants to see the Junior or Senior POW again. Remember to send your answers to firstname.lastname@example.org and don't forget to explain to her how you solved it!
Also the stars of this weeks assembly, our fabulous SNA's!!! Maybe they will lead us in the dance when we are all back in school!!!
Before the Easter break we brought you our first ever 'Virtual School Assembly'. On Friday we stepped things up for our second virtual assembly and made it live !
It was so lovely to be able to see and speak with you all. We hope you really enjoyed it.
For anyone who couldn't join us on Friday or anyone who wants to re-live the assembly we recorded it and you can see it in full below!
We love our assemblies at Esker. They are a chance for us to explore the Learn Together curriculum, showcase our learning and get together and celebrate our wonderful school community.
We are all missing one another right now so our teachers got together to launch our first Virtual School Assembly! As long as our school stays closed we will post our assembly here each Friday.
This assembly was pre-recorded but we are working on a plan to stream future assemblies live so we can all interact with each other!
We will tell you when to play the second & third videos!
Stay safe, enjoy the assembly, we miss you!

Chinese New Year with Junior Infants
it was such a treat to see Junior Infants Green and Junior Infants Red's first ever Learn Together Assembly performance for Chinese New Year. Well done everyone!
POW (problem of the week) Numeracy Initiative
Senior children created maths POWs and the children at the assembly had to figure out the answers. Keep up the good work and keep sending your POWs to Gemma!
Chinese New Year
Fourth Class Red performed a song, a poem and a play about Chinese New Year (January 25th). 2020 is the Year of the Rat. The rat is the first in the 12-year cycle of the Chinese Zodiac. Chinese New Year is celebrated in many countries around the world, such as Vietnam, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand, South Korea, Cambodia, the Philippines, Mauritius and in certain parts of Europe and North America.
We host assemblies to share what we're learning in Learn Together.
