Last week, it was Seachtain na Gaeilge. On Monday we visited a local Gaelscoil where we interacted in Irish with other 1st class children, played games and did some Irish folk dancing. Throughout the week, we made a massive effort to speak in Irish as much as possible in the classroom, on yard and even in our line. We also listened to and enjoyed lots of Irish songs and music this week. On Friday, we all dressed up in green and performed in a whole school céilí. We had a fantastic week and our Irish is improving so much everyday!
Recently, it was our turn to perform at the Learn Together assembly. Our theme was France. We were learning about France for Mother Tongue week and we decided to share our learning in our assembly. Check it out below!1st Class Red have been learning all about autumn. Recently, we explored our local park to search for signs of autumn. Check out the pictures below to see all of the items we collected along the way and to see our wonderful autumn artwork!
Senior Infants Red have been learning all about 'Minibeasts' in Aistear. We watched our five caterpillars grow and turn to chrysalises and then transform into butterflies. Watch as we release the butterflies! Senior Infants Red did an amazing performance of 'Tá sé ag Cur Báistí' and 'Spring is Here' for Junior assembly today. They should be very proud of themselves. Aistear is our way of learning through play. As a subject, Aistear involves science, maths, art, oral language, literacy and imaginative play. This month's theme is all about 'The Farm!' Today the children went with 6th Class red to the book and treat sale! The children enjoyed some of their treats and reading their new books during break time.
