Our theme in January was "Toys and Games". We learnt about toys and games from around the world and from the past! In February our theme was "Other places" and we focussed on Spain. In March we have been learning all about Spring. We got to try out rugby and GAA.

We have had a great two months since mid-term.

• We enjoyed our Cosy Day, we wore comfy clothes, drank hot chocolate, ate cookies and read books while cosied up in front of our "fire".
• We learned all about Hanukkah from a parent of a child in our class. We played with dreidels, learned about the menorah and the significance of oil and oil based foods. We got to eat donuts like many people do at Hanukkah!
• We learned about homes and winter and used junk art to create homes.
• Many of us had a great time doing activities on our bingo card for homework! Look at some of the lovely sleighs children made.
• We used smarties to learn about data graphs and how lining things up neatly make them much easier to count!

We have had a great start to the term! You can see some photos here from our learning and play in class. We enjoyed learning about Diwali from our classmate's parents who are from India. We have been working with numbers up to 20. We have also explored nature - including some wildlife both inside (spider) and outside (squirrel) the classroom!

Today, Senior Infants Red performed their Learn-Together showcase in front of the whole school! We started by showing everyone a slide show of what we've been learning in Aistear - all about 'The Restaurant'. We then showed the class our funny drama called 'There's a Fly in My Soup!'
Finally, we finished with an amazing performance of Nat King Cole's 'L-O-V-E' for Valentines Day. Senior Infants Red did absolutely amazing, they were so professional and should be really proud of themselves! This was such a lovely assembly performance, well done to all.
