Parents and students should apply to at least two/three schools as often children do not get a place in their first choice of school. Please be advised that school places are over subscribed in the Lucan area, so the more schools you apply to, the better chance you have of getting a place for your child. To apply you will need your child’s birth certificate and proof of address. Some schools also require a deposit, this will differ between schools. Please look at the website of each school for further information about that school and their admission policy. If you need help with the cost of uniforms and footwear for your children, you can apply for the Back to School Clothing and Footwear Allowance. https://www.gov.ie/en/service/41eb8b-back-to-school-clothing-and-footwear-allowance/ You and your child can also visit spunout.ie – a website for adolescents in Ireland about school, mental health, well-being and other related topics. The Educational Welfare Services (EWS) of the Child and Family Agency (Tusla) can help you if you are having difficulty in finding a school place for your child. You can contact the EWS on (01) 7718633 Please see leaflet attached for more details. If you have any further questions please contact me on 086 0261061 or email [email protected]
