National Parents Council Primary (NPC) would like to invite you to attend one of our FREE online interactive workshops on “Anti-bullying”, a training programme by NPC, designed to enable you to support your children regarding issues of bullying and to also inform you about the Anti-bullying Procedures in schools.

Bullying is, unfortunately, a negative aspect of some children’s lives and can be a worry for many parents. Learning ways to deal with and cope with bullying situations is a key life skill that we all can develop. If you would like to learn more about preventing or addressing bullying behaviour or if you are worried about your child being bullied or bullying others, this session might be useful for you. It can give you tips on how to support your child in dealing with bullying situations. Information on the anti-bullying procedures in schools and discussion on different types of bullying, including cyber-bullying are also areas covered in the session.

The sessions are taking place next week, starting Monday the 15th of November 2021, online via Zoom at 10am Monday to Friday, and 7.30pm on Monday to Thursday.
These events are open to all parents.

1. Raising bilingual children in Ireland
Parents of children who speak two or more languages are often full of questions. Will my child be able to manage with the school language? Should I keep using my mother tongue or should I stop? Are three languages too much for a child? How do we make sure that all languages develop? What are the best methods for raising bilingual children?
Join Dr Francesca La Morgia, director of Mother Tongues and expert in language development and bilingualism, for this interactive talk. There will be time for questions and discussion, and to share our experiences of parenting through multiple languages. Mother Tongues is a social enterprise working to promote multilingualism and intercultural dialogue in Ireland. They provide resources for families and educators in the areas of language development, bilingualism, and interculturalism.
