Dear Parents and Guardians,
With the new school year already back in full swing, we would like to invite you to our PTA Annual General Meeting, which will take place on Friday, October 21st at 10am in the school hall. Tea/Coffee and light refreshments will be available beforehand from 9.30am. At the meeting, we will give you a short introduction into how the PTA works, we will be reviewing PTA activities over the past year, and we will also elect the committee for the coming year. It is great to see the school alive again with parents taking part in various classes, activities and general school life, so whether you are an existing or a new parent in Esker ETNS, we would love to meet you and we hope you will be able to join us on the day. Best regards, Claudia Reese Chairperson, Esker ETNS PTA

Dear parents/guardians,
Next week is maths week. Please take a look at the timetable below and come in for some maths fun. Students and staff are all looking forward to having you back in the school. Please see leaflet below with some upcoming events in Esker. Parents/guardians should apply to at least four/five schools as often children do not get a place in their first choice of school. Please be advised that school places are over subscribed in the Lucan area, so the more schools you apply to, the better chance you have of getting a place for your child. To apply you will need your child’s birth certificate and proof of address. Some schools also require a deposit, this will differ between schools. Please look at the website of each school for further information about that school and their admission policy. If you need help with the cost of uniforms and footwear for your children, you can apply for the Back to School Clothing and Footwear Allowance. https://www.gov.ie/en/service/41eb8b-back-to-school-clothing-and-footwear-allowance/ You and your child can also visit spunout.ie – a website for adolescents in Ireland about school, mental health, well-being and other related topics. The Educational Welfare Services (EWS) of the Child and Family Agency (Tusla) can help you if you are having difficulty in finding a school place for your child. You can contact the EWS on (01) 7718633 Please see leaflet attached for more details. If you have any further questions please contact me on 086 0261061 or email linda@eskeretns.ie Discuție despre transferul școlii.

Dear parents/guardians, Myself and Gemma will be hosting a secondary school transfer talk for you, the parents/guardians, on Tuesday 20th of September at 9.30am in the hall. If you can not make it please let me know and we can arrange a chat. School places in Lucan and the surrounding area fill up extremely quickly so it is very important that you have all documentation ready to go once the application period starts (they will be different for each school). Looking forward to seeing you on the 20th at 9.30am. Linda Discuție despre transferul școlii.

The National Parents Council will be giving an online webinar on the transition from primary to secondary school for all parents in 5th and 6th class on Thursday May 12th at 10am. Every year, more than 50,000 children in Ireland move from Primary to Post Primary education. It is a time of many challenges for children and for parents. For children, changes can be emotional, physical, and academic. They go from being senior in their Primary school to junior in their Post Primary School. They have to manage a broader range of subjects and subject options, more teachers, more homework, longer school days, new friends, bigger school and very often their parents’ anxiety. For parents their challenges can range from choosing the school that best suits their child’s needs, to issues such as subject options, bullying, new relationships, friendships, homework, finance, and their child’s anxiety. Zoom link will be sent on the morning of the 12th. If you have any questions please contact me linda@eskeretns.ie Dear parents/ guardians,
